The story goes like this. Leonato is one of the most respected nobleman of Messina, in Italy. He lives with his beautiful daughter, witty niece Beatrice and Antonio, his elder brother. After some time, some his friends visits his house, Don Pedro, a prince and his fellow soldiers and nobleman Claudio and Benedick and Pedro's illegitimate brother Don John, who is bitter about everything and creates trouble for everyone. Claudio falls for Hero and decides to get married, while Benedick and Beatrice indulge in witty banter. Before the wedding the couples and their friends decide to play a game, in which they try to bring Beatrice and Benedick closer to one another. As everything goes well Don John interrupts and with his scheming brain, he is successful in creating rifts between Claudio and Hero and the marriage is called off. This adversely affects Hero and her family spread the rumor about her suicide and hide her away. The family watchmen comes to know everything and he brings everything to light. Claudio feels guilty and is full of grief. Leonato orders Claudio to tell everyone about the truth and also tells him to marry Leonato's "niece" , and later Claudio comes to know that she is none other than Hero herself. In the meantime, Benedick asks Beatrice if she will marry him and at the end they all celebrate double wedding. William Shakespeare is regarded as one of the greatest English poet and playwright.
