This show opened back on October 17, 1965 at the Mark Hellinger Theatre and lasted for about eight months. Robert Lewis directed, Herbert Ross choreographed, and Barbara Harris, John Cullum, and Clifford David originated the main roles. On a Clear Day You Can See Forever did not do well on stage, but found new life on film. On a Clear Day tickets eventually found their way back with a West End revival in 2000. Eleven years later another revival took place on Broadway. The synopsis begins with a quirky character named Daisy Gamble taking stock and declaring herself unremarkable. Gamble is blessed with an oddball assortment of talents though. She has a green thumb, predict telephone calls, and locate missing objects. She does smoke however, and this could put her fiancé Warren's job prospects in jeopardy. To stop this habit, she contacts Dr. Mark Bruckner. Gamble begins to regale with a tale of a previous life in the late 18th century. She was Melinda Wells and was in love with Edward Moncrief, a portrait painter. Gamble tells tales of the meeting Edward at the London Hellrakers' Club. Mark has begun to fall in love with Melinda and begins to believe that Daisy is indeed this woman reincarnated. His professional friends mock him for the most part, but one wishes to use Melinda to explore the phenomenon of reincarnation. On a Clear Day ends in a bittersweet scene uniting Mark and Daisy. OnlineSeats has the On a Clear Day tickets to see this incredible musical revived.
