The play is written and directed by Stuart Ross. Plaid Tidings is a show for the whole family. It combines many sought after tunes from the '50s and '60s with the best of traditional holiday songs and carols. This is a hilarious tribute to The Ed Sullivan Christmas Spectaculars. There is some singing by Perry Como himself too! That makes the Plaid Tidings the most watchable show in town.
Stuart Ross wrote and directed the musical extravaganza Forever Plaid. Stuart Ross is one of the most acclaimed writers of our times. He staged the premiere of The Boswell Sisters, which he co-wrote with Mark Hampton. That was at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Conference for the Nation Music Theatre. Before this he had directed his new play Tea With Bea at Chicago's Royal George Theatre and also Bay Street Theatre at Sag Harbor. He has directed three productions for HBO's New Writers Project. He won Chicago's Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Director of a Musical this season. Stuart Ross has directed the original New York production, as well as subsequent productions acorss the world including United States, Japan, London's West End and Canada. Coming to Broadway, he has co-authored the acclaimed Radio City Music Hall Easter Show and the Tony nominated musical Starmites. As a director his oeuvre includes It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman, Conrack, Breaking Up, Nasty Little Secrets, Creeps, The Lunch Girls, among others. For six seasons now Mr. Ross has been a director of The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Conference.
