Rock of Ages tickets are Broadway musical tickets to enjoy a jukebox musical that celebrates the classic rock and glam metal bands of the 1980s at Helen Hayes Theatre. Rock of Ages continues to entertain on Broadway in 2011 with hit songs from styx, Journey, Twisted Sister, Poison, and Asia as the soundtrack for the love triangle of Drew, Sherrie, and Stacee Jaxx and the story of keeping it real in the world of rock and roll.
Rock of Ages tickets have been available since 2006, though not on Broadway. Chris D'Arienzo's book; Kelly Devine's choreography; and Ethan Popp's music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations first took the stage in Los Angeles at the Vanguard Hollywood. The Rock of Ages moved onto the Off-Broadway stage at the New World Stages for a short run from 2008 to 2009. Broadway finally called Rock of Ages number in 2009 at the Broosk Atkinson Theatre, where it resided until it moved to Helen Hayes Theatre on March 24, 2011.
Rock of Ages has remained so popular thanks to its catalog of hits bringing back a sense of nostalgia for some and simply providing a good soundtrack for others. Rock of Ages also happens to tell the story of an aspiring musician (Drew Boley), a waitress (Sherrie Christian), and a rock star hell bent on remaining in the spotlight (Stacee Jaxx) at the Bourbon, a Los Angeles rock club on the verge of being torn down in the midst of redevelopment plans, plans that are meant to inject a little clean living into the perceived sex and drug culture.
