Tappers With Attitude was founded in the year 1991 by Renee Kreithen, which is one of the unique of its kind. It is a multicultural group of young dancers who are in the cutting edge of the Renaissance of tap dance. The dancers are directed by Victoria Moss. All the dancers range from the age of 10 to 18. This young dancers represents the schools from Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. This young dancers have also performed on the stages throughout the area and on local and nationwide television. Some of the highlights of Tappers With Attitude are Wolf Trap Center for Performing Arts, Smithsonian Institution, BlackRock Center for the Arts, Carter Barron Amphitheater, Wolf Trap's Filene Center and Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods, Strathmore, Franklin Marshall College, the Scholastic National Arts Awards, the Smithsonian Institution, the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, the Kennedy Center Open House and Am-Jam Festivals, the Kennedy Center Honors tribute to honoree Shirley Temple Black and the 2001 New York City International Tap Festival. They have also performed at the Chicago Human Rhythm Project, and was the closing act of the Scholastic National Arts Awards at the Kennedy Center Opera House. They were also selected to perform in the Kennedy Center Honors' tribute to Shirley Temple Black.

 Tappers With Attitude's mission is to promote and preserve tap dance as a percussive art, that give special emphasis to jazz tradition as well as foster a new generation to carry out the art. Tappers With Attitude also presents works by the nationally known tap artists. The company also invites new choreographers so that they can bring into the dance new style and rhythm. Not only this, the young dancers are also encouraged as well as assisted to choreograph their own dance so that it can nurture the creation of new expressions and voices also. They try their level best to provide education in tap dance as as opportunities for dancers in all age groups as well as abilities. They try to foster pride in cultural heritage among the children, youth and adults in the communities that they belong. They also teach the young dancers to promote and preserve the unique quality of American art of tap dance, with a special emphasis on the rhythm tap tradition as well as Jazz. Tappers With Attitude also serves as repertory companies to establish as well as the emerging tap choreographers, side by side cultivating innovative choreography that redefines conventional tap dance. They also try to foster diversity that is ethnic, economic and geographic among its company members, students, faculty, choreographers as well as audiences.
For its efforts, Tappers With Audience received the Metro DC Dance Award for Outstanding Youth Performance in the year 2004.
