He has been affected by Sarah's experience and has decided to live for the good things in life as well. One of these good things is Mandy, his new, much younger girlfriend. Time Stands Still takes a further turn into the Sarah's anger as she is distraught and disapproving of Richard's new look on life and girlfriend.
Mandy is much more than just a pretty face in Time Stands Still. She questions the ethics of merely documenting tragedy when that person with the camera can help in those instances.
