Tim Cunningham
If you're fan of sultry, smooth, cool yet funky music then Tim Cunningham will be your top choice. Tim Cunningham is one of the most revered saxophonists who have given new dimensions to R&B saxophone. This R&B saxophonist was born in Lansing, Michigan and was inclined to music from his childhood. It was in early teens when he started playing tenor saxophone along with the alto and soprano. By the time he graduated from Everett High School, he was master of all three. After graduation he got into Michigan State University and instead of playing saxophone he was playing football. This whole activity continued for four continuous years but in last year of his college he was offered a free agent contract. This contract was offered to him by the Dallas Cowboys, in return he refused it as he wants to acquire his degree first and still he was more passionate about saxophone.
Ones out of college he started playing in various clubs, pubs and hotels. He also became very popular in the nightclubs, Las Vegas Casinos and various festivals spanning the U.S. and Caribbean. Soon his popularity spread like the fire in the jungle and he was approached by various famous artists for their opening. For full one year he did openings for artists such as The O'Jays, Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly, The Whispers, R. Kelly, Dave Koz, Luther Vandross, The Temptations, Boys II Men, Wynton Marsalis, Jeffery Osborne, Al Green, Patti Labelle, George Benson and many more. Furthermore, Tim also worked with legendary musicians such as Brian Culbertson, Bobby Lyle and Will Downing for his album in 1996. This album was released on Atlantic Records titling 'Right Turn Only'. This album was a smash hit and was the wake up call for various legendary musicians. He also wrote and performed on the theme talk show 'The Bertice Berry Show' teemed with Daron Steward. Tim also appeared on the Ready for the World's 'Ruff & Ready' CD.
