VAST is a theater established in 1998 by Jon Crosby who is a singer, a songwriter and a musician. The Musical outfit VAST is an abbreviation for Visual Audio Sensory Theater is based in Austin, Texas. The musical group began when Jon Crosby was only sixteen year old. The group always wanted to be a group, which is not limited only to rock. The group as their name suggests wanted to try and play all kinds of music.
VAST has always conducted live shows that have been technically unbeatable and they have done everything in a unique style. Their shows have been full on sensory experience as they employ things like display monitors and they have been always providing many visual effects onstage along with great music. The VAST came into existence in the early part of year 1998 but it was later part of the year 1999 when the group really got a place in hall of fame when the radio station granted them a consistent airtime.
After VAST got a consistent radio airtime and got some fame New York radio companies asked for their songs and they finally signed an agreement with Electra Records. Three more members joined the group and the group went on a tour of America and released and Album named as ‘Visual Audio Sensory Theater'. Thomas Frogatt and Steve Clark who joined the group before the tour and the release of the album played a vital role in the group's Music. Rowan Robertson, who also joined the group along with both of them later after the release of the first album, left the group.
Artist Biography - Vast
The group released their second album in the year 2000 ‘Music for people' and that was a big hit. The group decided to take another person in the place of Rowan. After some auditions and some screen tests finally Justin Cotta made into the group. The group then went on to a tour of U.S.A. the tour was a great success and their fans got multiplied after the tour. In the later part of the tour Justin Cotta and Clark decided to leave the group. As soon as the tour ended they left the group and formed a new group.
VAST released the new Album in February 24, 2004 the album was named ‘Nude'. The group went on for a third tour after the release of the album ‘Nude'. The live shows in the tour were full of great visual effects and their live shows and their technical excellence was praised by everyone and their critics also failed to criticize them and agreed that the group was best in visual effects.
After the tour Jon Crosby decided to work under his own banner ‘2blossoms Records and Media'. After this they started selling of CDs of Crimson and Turquoise with a new artwork and also gave downloadable data of the above in their website. This completely replaced the album ‘Nude'.
The group is now ready to release a new CD in the later part of the year 2006. the people are waiting for them to release the new CD as to see what new graphics and visual effects along with good music have been added in their list.
