Arco Arena Arco Arena One Sports Parkway, Sacramento, California 95834

Arco Arena is an arena which is located on the expanding northern outskirts of Sacramento, California, US and is the home of the NBA's Sacramento Kings and the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs. It is opened in 1988, operated and owned by The Maloof family. It was designed by Rann Haight and the construction costed $40 million, which is the lowest of any venue in the NBA. Also it’s the smallest arena in the NBA by size and second smallest by seating capacity. The capacity is 17,317 for basketball, and it has 30 luxury suites and 412 club seats. Only Orlando's Amway Arena has a smaller seating capacity for basketball, but they are building new $480 million dollar arena that will open in fall 2010, with larger seating capacity and modern luxuries.

In the 2007-2008 season the Kings sold out three home games and averaged 13,500 per game. The Maloof family wanted to build a new $600 milion facility in Sacramento, funded by a quarter-cent sales tax increase over 15 years. The energy company ARCO, which is the namesake sponsor of the arena, has had corporate sponsorship since the arena's inception as well as the original ARCO Arena, and the Maloof brothers on March 19, 2007 announced a multi-year agreement extending the naming rights of ARCO Arena.
