Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena - Venue Tickets, Schedules, Seating Charts, and Information

The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena is an all-purpose venue that is located in Jacksonville, Florida. It offers a seating capacity for 16,000 people and was designed keeping the “state-of-art” techniques in mind. The arena is equipped with acoustical features that are necessary for hosting concerts and shows. The arena was built in the year 2003 as a part of John Delaney's Better Jacksonville Plan to remove the old and outdated Jacksonville Memorial Coliseum. Elton John was the first artist to hold a concert in the arena in November 2003. Since that period, lots of artists have performed in the Arena. The spectators have been blessed with the brilliant performances from all kinds of artists and genres including country, rap, rock and the list are indeed long.

In the year 2006, a very famous and leading Dixie Chicks concert was canceled due to lack of ticket sales, which happened because of the general reaction of the audience, against the comments of the group on the Iraq War, especially in the Southern Area. The Arena is famous for entertainment as well as lots of sporting action. It is a kind of multi-functional venue. The Sporting events that are held in the arena till date include performances by the USA Men's Olympic basketball team in their only game played in the year 2004 and the 1st and 2nd rounds of the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament held in the year 2006. The arena also played host to the WWE One Night Stand pay-per-view in the year 2007. The arena was the official home to the Jacksonville Barracudas ice hockey franchise till the end season of 2006-2007 games, as they were given a comparatively small hockey arena in the town. Now the Arena is the official home to the Jacksonville University Dolphins men's basketball teams for their home games.
