Villebillies
The band was started in the beginning of 2001 by Demi Demaree, lead singer of the Louisville rock band ‘Plan Of Man', and the hip hop production team of Dustin Tucker and William Young. The maiden demo of the group had contributions from Demaree's Plan Of Man band mates, Adam Goff, Ron Ping, Justin Reid, and Tim Bernauer. The band roped in vocalists Derek Monyhan, Dyllan O'Daniel, and David Mouser before their maiden live performance on February 16th 2002. Before integrating with Demaree's other band ‘Plan of Man' in 2004, the Villebillies performed as a five man vocal group. The ten-man band signed a recording deal with Universal Motown Records in 2005.
The band joined forces with producer Toby Wright to record their maiden album however; dissensions between the band and the producer deferred the project. The Villebillies released their eponymous album ‘The Villebillies' on September 26th 2006. After the release of the album, the band embarked on an extensive tour in support of the same. The band during their tour opened for artists like hip hop star ‘Nelly' and country music idol ‘Hank Williams Jr'.
In the beginning of 2007, there was a change in the lineup; David Mouser quit the band because of his problem with drug and alcohol. It was a blow for the band however; it gathered itself and ventured on their maiden nationwide tour in support of Scratch N Sniff Radio, a nationally syndicated radio program based in San Diego, California. The band along with four others Hed (PE), Authority Zero, Mower, and Danny Diablo enthralled fans in more than thirty cities all over the U.S. and received heavy radio promotion.
After the tour, the band underwent another lineup change; Dyllan O'Daniel and William Young quit the band mentioning creative and personal differences with other band mates. To make matters worse, Universal Motown Records dropped the band from its roster.
However, not the ones to be easily wavered from their dreams, The Villebillies kept composing music and playing live shows. They have even proclaimed that they will be coming out with a new album in the beginning of 2008.

Artist Biography - Villebillies
|
The Villebillies are the immensely popular rap/rock band from Louisville, Kentucky, whose eponymous debut album released in 2006, did quite well. Even though the band has just released their debut record, but it has toured widely across the U.S as a headlining act and as an opener for many popular bands. The band's music is portrayed by a blend of traditional live instruments and hip hop style beats and samples with layered rap verses and harmonious hooks sung in a more rock and roll style. Even if categorized as rap rock, the band's music has components of folk, country, blues, jazz, and classical styles.
