The city of Visalia in the state of California. Visalia lies in the Tulare County in the heart of California’s agricultural San Joaquin Valley. It is about 230 miles away from the city of San Francisco. According to the 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city stands at 121,792.

Visalia is the county seat of the Tulare County and is also the economic center of the whole region, which is the arguably the most productive single agricultural area in the United States. As per the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of 28.6 square miles, all of which is land. The extremely popular Sequoia National Park, which is home to the famous Giant Sequoia trees, is located very near to the city.

The downtown portion of the city boasts of several shops, restaurants and coffeehouses. It is a popular shopping destination. The minor league baseball park called the 'Recreation Park' is situated here. This park is also home of the club 'Visalia Oaks'. The famous 'Fox Theatre' is also located in this portion of the city. Over the years, the venue has hosted several performing arts and musical events

The Central California Chinese Cultural Center is a popular cultural center of the city. The center showcases the history of the 19th century Chinese immigrants. The center also has a Confucian temple and an exposition room that has several artifacts, paintings and rare architectural finds. Another popular tourist attraction is the Tulare County Mooney Grove Museum.
