The Wailers is a Raggae band that was headed by the legendary Bob Marley. After Bob Marley's death from cancer on May 11, 1981, the Wailers Band found it very difficult to find their way. They needed direction or leadership and struggled nearly a decade to find their direction. They also faced legal problems related to the release of their own music.
The band was then anchored by world-class bassist Family Man Barrett and his drummer brother Carlton who was later murdered by gunmen that were hired by his wife. The Wailers Band performed consistently on international tours and festivals and got very positive feedback from the madia and audience throughout the '80s. The responsibility of leading the vocals department was bravely taken by guitarist Junior Murvin and keyboardist stalwart Wya Lindo and percussionist Seeco Patterson.
