We Are The Fury
The group was formed in 1999 in Toledo, Ohio and was at that time called the ‘Hearsay'. Eventually, the band renamed them selves as ‘Hearsay TAO' and came out with an album and an EP under this moniker. Both the album and EP did quite well. The band once again changed their name and became The Fury. Under this moniker the band released an eponymous EP ‘The Fury' in 2005. The EP garnered considerable attention and the band signed a recording deal with ‘One Big Spark Records', a Warner subsidiary. The band once more changed its name, this time they called themselves ‘We Are the Fury'. However, the reason for a change in name was legal. The band re-issued their EP as ‘Infinite Jest' in 2006, which was followed by their much-awaited first full-length album ‘Venus' in 2007. The album was well accepted and the popular magazine Rolling Stone called the band ‘Artist to Watch'. The band after the resale of the album embarked on a long and extensive tour in support of it. The band has toured with popular acts like Silverchair, Jack's Mannequin, Head Automatica, Men, Women and Children, Bedouin Soundclash and many more. The band enthralled its fan during the 2006 Vans Warped Tour, CMJ Independent Music Festival, South by Southwest, Bamboozle, part of the 2007 Vans Warped Tour and CollegeFest. Wherever they performed, the band was greeted with great enthusiasm. In a short span of time the band has garnered a huge fan base. The band also toured with Six and The Gore Gore Girls and opened for the act ‘Silverchair'. Many describe the band's music as a blend of ‘A mix of late-80s cock rock bravado'. Critics also believe that the ‘band bridges the gap between '70s glam rock and '00s pop punk with their debut full-length, Venus'.
