West Nyack is a hamlet in the Town of Clarkstown. It is located in the Rockland County in the state of New York, United States. West Nyack is situated north of the Central Nyack, east of Nanuet, south to the Valley Cottage and west of the Upper Nyack. According to the 2000 census, the population of this hamlet stood at 3,282.

The hamlet was named Clarksville in the year 1847. Subsequently, its name was changed to MontMoor and eventually to West Nyack. As per the United States Census Bureau, the total area of this hamlet is around 2.9 square miles. In the year 2007, West Nyack received the major honor of being ranked at 24th position on the annual '100 Best Places to Live in the United States' list declared by CNN Money.

There are a number of major tourist attractions in West Nyack. The 'Rockland Center for the Arts' is one such place. The institute has been a major cultural center for the entire region for over 57 years now. Over the years, the institute has presented numerous highly acclaimed cultural arts programs, such as exhibitions and performing arts series.
