The village of Westbury is located in New York. Westbury lies in the town of North Hempstead and falls in the Nassau county. According to the 2000 census the population of the village stands at 14,263. As per the United States Census Bureau, the village covers a total area of 2.4 square miles, which is 100% land.

Many unincorporated regions along the borders of the village also use the Westbury name, such as Salisbury (South Westbury) and parts of the hamlet Jericho. In fact, the extremely famous 'Westbury Music Fair' performance venue, presently known as Capital One Theatre at Westbury, is located in the Westbury postal zone, which is a part of the Jericho hamlet.

One of the most unique aspects of this town is the diversity that it shows. The entire village comprises of Italian-Americans, African-Americans and Hispanic Americans. The village is also quite popular by its nickname, which is 'A Community for All Seasons'. The village got this nickname because of the fact that most residents of the village tend to live here throughout the year.

The village is said to have a very strong musical culture and over the years, many notable musicians have come from this village, such as the legendary and arguably the best guitarist of all times, Joe Satriani, the popular rapper and radio personality Doctor Dre and the singer-songwriter Ashanti.
