Westport is a town located in the state of Connecticut, United States. The coastal town lies in the Fairfield County and is just 47 miles away from the city of New York. According to the Census Bureau Estimates in the year 2005, the population of the town stands at 26,615. As per the United States Census Bureau, the town covers an area of 33.3 square miles, which is 60.02% land and 39.98% water.

Westport is surrounded by Norwalk, Weston, Wilton, Fairfield and Long Island South on the west, north, northwest, east and south respectively. Over the years, the town of Westport has established a reputation as an artist's colony and a popular cultural center. In fact, Westport is one of the few towns that not only has a rich culture but is also a popular business center. The town is thriving business center and headquarters of as many as 15 corporations are located in this town.

The town is home to numerous cultural attractions, such as the longtime regional theater 'Westport Country Playhouse', the 'Levitt Pavilion' theater, the arts council and the Westport Public Library. The town has many popular tourist attractions. The 'Campo Beach' is one such place. This beach was the site of the British invasion of Danbury.
