The city of Wichita Falls is located in the state of Texas, United States. Wichita Falls lies in the Wichita County and is also the county seat of the same. According to the 2000 census, the population of the city is estimated to be around 104,197. The city is the principal city of the 'Wichita Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area', which comprises of the Archer, Clay and Wichita counties.

Wichita Falls is situated around 15 miles away from the state of Oklahoma and a about 140 miles away from the Oklahoma City. As per the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of 70.7 square miles, of which 99.97% is land. The famous United States Air Force base, 'Sheppard Air Force Base', is located in this city.

The city has a rich and historical sporting culture. The 'Hotter'N Hell Hundred' bicycle ride competition takes place in this city. The competition an annual event and is the largest century bicycle ride in the United States. The event was first conducted in the year 1982 and has been held every year since.
