Wildwood Information: Tickets, Venues, Events and More

The city of Wildwood is located in the state of New Jersey, United States. Wildwood falls in the Cape May County and is also a part of the 'Ocean City Metropolitan Statistical Area'. According to the 2000 Census, the population of the city stands at 5,436. However, it can swell up to 250,000 during the summer months.

Wildwood was incorporated in the year 1895 and was reincorporated later in the same year. As per the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of 1.4 square miles, of which 92.8% is land. The city of Wildwood, the Borough of Wildwood Crest, the Borough of West Wildwood, the City of North Wildwood and the Diamond Beach, together are known as 'The Wildwoods'.

The city is a popular tourist location and has many visitors and tourists from nearby regions of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Delaware, during its summer season. Popular tourist spots are the beach and the 1.8-mile boardwalk, along which lies the Morey's Piers and the water-park complex, Raging Waters. The Splash Zone Water Park is also located on this boardwalk. This water-park is extremely famous for its rides and pools. The beach in this city has constantly featured in the lists of top beaches of the state of New Jersey.

The annual co-ed Ultimate Frisbee tournament is also hosted by this city and teams from all around the country come to compete in the event. Over the years, the city has been featured in a number of songs, such as the song 'Wildwood Days' by 'Bobby Rydell', another song by 'Eddie Florano' and the song 'Laughed Until We Cried' by Jason Aldean.
