Said to have emerged from the dark underbelly of Los Angeles, Winds of Plague has been part of the West Coast indie music scene for the past several years. Originally known as Black December, Winds of Plague was formed in 2002 in Upland, California.

Offering fast and heavy hardcore melodies, Winds of Plague serves up their music with an attitude that will get their audience's attention every time, while the young band brings energy, emotion, and mayhem, to the stage every time. The dark mix of unearthly keyboards, crazed drumming, and snarling vocals, which flow into slowed, brutal breakdowns is what makes up Winds of Plague's signature sound.

Built on principles, both musically and lyrically, Winds of Plague reaches beyond the standard boundaries of metal found in stores today. Their unique approach of using keyboards as the backbone for their songs guarantees that the band will not be confused with any other metal performers to have recently emerged onto the hardcore stage. Lyrically, Winds of Plague goes beyond the norm; exploring themes of human nature, transcending adolescent tales of love lost and mistaken identity, and contrary to so many other anthems of today.

Prior to their 2005 name change, Winds of Plague also had their share of band member changes before settling on the current lineup; Jonathan Cooke on lead vocals, Nick Eash and Nick Piunno on guitar, Kristen Randall on keyboards, Andrew Glover on bass guitar, and Jeff Tenney on drums.
