The city of Winter Haven is located in the state of Florida. Winter Haven falls in the Polk County and is the second most populous city of the same. As per the 2007 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city stands at 32,577.

The city is popular by its nickname, 'The Chain of Lakes City'. Winter Haven got this name because of its several fresh water lakes. Around 24 of these lakes are connected by a system of canals. As per the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of 25.4 square miles, of which 69.55% is land.

Winter Haven is especially famous because of its spectacular theme parks. The 'Cypress Gardens Adventure Park' is one of the most famous theme parks here. It was also the first theme park to be made in the state of Florida. Over the years, the Cypress Gardens has underwent constant renovations and it still maintains its reputation as one of the most enjoyable places in the whole state.

The architecture of the city is particularly renowned. The city has many buildings designed by the famous architect Gene Leedy, who was even one of the founders of the Sarasota School of Architecture. Winter Haven has an active sporting culture. The city is home to many reputed ski schools. The city also used to be the spring-training home of the accomplished baseball teams 'Boston Red Sox' and ' Cleveland Indians'.
