The city of Wisconsin Dells is located in the state of Wisconsin. Wisconsin Dells falls partially in four different counties, namely the Adams County, the Columbia County, the Juneau County and the Sauk County. The city is situated in the south-central portion of Wisconsin and according to the 2000 census, its population stands at 2,418.

The city of Wisconsin Dells is named after the dells, glacially-formed gorges that have beautiful sandstone rock formations along the bank, in the Wisconsin River. Wisconsin Dells is said to form the area 'Dells' along with the nearby Lake Delton. This area is a popular tourist location and the number of tourists visiting this place annually is around 5 million. As per the 'United States Census Bureau', the city has a total area of 4.4 square miles, of which around 94.32% is land.

Wisconsin Dells is popularly referred to as the 'Waterpark Capital of the World'. The city has a massive total of eighteen indoor water-parks and three outdoor ones. The largest outdoor water-park in the entire United States, namely the 'Noah's Ark', is located here. Overall, the city boasts of over seventy acres of water slides.
