The season 2006-2007 of Woven Harmony, will have composer Andrew York of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet along with the talented performer, Rebecca and Robert Bluestone. A brilliant multi-media performance by the couple, that includes Rebecca 's tapestries installed onstage, a projection of the images of their home, studio, process as well as the landscapes and places from which they have been continually drawing inspiration and all this is reflected in Robert Bluestone music too. Between the performance, these two talented couple also carry out conservations that is unique in its presentation. Both of them believe in that part of communication which is non-verbal, as in music and art. In Woven Harmony they try to create a transformative space for music and art that can speak their own language, that draws the audience into a web of friendship with this extraordinary couple. Both of them use a handmade strung instruments, that express their individuality and their existence as a couple. Rebecca is a contemporary artist, who apart from handmade instruments also uses a number of weaving techniques along with hand-dyed and metallic threads to create colorful tapestries on a wooden warp., while on the other hand Robert presents a repertoire of music from four continents and four centuries, with splendid diversity

Artist Biography - Woven Harmony
|
 Robert Bluestone did his Master degree in music from Eastern Michigan University. He then went on to study at the Instituto del Arte Guitarristico in Mexico City where he studied with the famous Argentine guitarist, Manuel Lopez Ramos and he was also honored for becoming the first foreign virtuoso. In 1979, he went to study and perform at the Andres Segovia Master Class in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, where he was awarded a full scholarship. After completion, he went on to spread his music to people with passion and creativity which he brought out with full warmth, to the the children, elderly people and also to the sick people,especially. He is also a great advocator of arts and tries to connect the communities between arts and business groups. He has gained an international reputation not only as a classical guitarist but also his love for arts. His audiences love him not only for his music but also for his charm, wit and humor, which he always show whenever he is giving commentary on the music, its composers and historical context. He allows his audiences to enter his world and the music.
He has also been the most requested solo artist on the most prestigious WESTAF (Western States Arts Federation) Performing Arts Tour Roster from 1991-1996. For his role that he played in the cultural life of his home city and state, he was honored with the Mayor of Santa Fe's Outstanding Achievement in the Arts Award. In 1994 he was the first artist elected to serve on the board of the Western Arts Alliance. In 2001 the Western Arts Alliance conferred the Betty Connors Award for outstanding volunteer service to the Western Arts Alliance and performing arts in the West upon Bluestone.
Robert Bluestone is the wife of Robert Bluestone. She is a contemporary abstract artist who uses ancient tapestry techniques and and hand-dyed silks of varied textures and sheens and metallic threads woven on a cotton warp as her medium. Some of the few collections of Rebecca's work are Chicago Art Institute, Museum of Arts & Design, NYC, Denver Art Museum, Albuquerque Museum, New Mexico State Capitol, US Embassy in Ottawa, Canada and the private collection of Robert Redford. Her work has been regularly seen in national publications including, The New York Times, American Craft, Fiber Arts and Southwest Art.
The ultimate goal of Woven Harmony is to invite the audience into their lives as artists, individuals and a couple. The Bluestones, through Woven Harmony will present a series of events and performances which will provide an insight into the creativity's role in the human experience.
